The FE Module Program consists of the CBT format to resemble the exam that you are going to be taking. Each FE Program is broken up into modules and a certain number of hours per module.
 
Each FE Program consists of total of 48 hours of learning. GIC uses its LMS system called GIC Online to upload the course notes and for communication with your instructor.
 
You will be able to test your skills throughout the course through practice exam questions that will be done under the supervision of your instructor.
 
The cost per hour is $40. Therefore, the cost for the whole course is $1920.
 
If you take the whole course in one lump sum, then the cost will include a 25% discount. The price will then be $1440 for all modules for each discipline.
 
There is a mandatory requirement to enroll in a minimum of 5 modules. Registrations in a module that does not meet this requirement will not be able to proceed. Any 5 modules can be chosen to meet this requirement. 
 
Module Description
 
This course is 4 hours in duration. The flexibility of this course will allow multiple modules to be taken at once. The exact delivery date will be scheduled between you and the instructor.

A. Shear and moment diagrams
B. Stresses and strains (e.g., axial, torsion, bending, shear, thermal)
C. Deformations (e.g., axial, torsion, bending, thermal)
D. Combined stresses
E. Principal stresses
F. Mohr's circle
G. Column analysis (e.g., buckling, boundary conditions)
H. Composite sections
I. Elastic and plastic deformations
J. Stress-strain diagrams

The PDDP Distance Education program works as follows:

  • Once you register for this course, you will be sent a login username and password for our online distance website.

  • You will receive the course notes in hard copy through the online website, you will receive a set of notes each week covering the course material.

  • A one hour video-conference session will be conducted by your instructor each week (if required). The objective of this session is to assist in solving the assignments, as well as answer student questions that should be sent to instructor early enough prior to the meeting time. In addition with being able to communicate with the instructor, you will also be able to communicate with other students in the same class and watch their questions being answered as well. (A high speed internet connection is strongly recommended for this feature).

  • Each set of exercises can be completed and submitted by the indicated date and your completed exercise will be marked online and and returned by your instructor.

  • To gain the most from your course, it is highly recommended that you participate fully in all discussions and exercises. Please remember that each course has a form of quiz or exercise at the end to test your understanding of the material. You will be informed of these dates when you receive the course schedule.
